Reflections Literary Magazine 2020
Once again, the American Scholastic Press Association has awarded Oak Hill Academy’s Reflections Literary Magazine FIRST PLACE in this prestigious competition for 2020!
The contest is judged through a variety of criteria; design, content, theme and editing. OHA competes with schools all over the country. Our Upper School students submit poetry and short stories as the school year progresses. Our Monmouth county private school’s literary magazine, Reflections, staff and moderator work diligently on selecting the works to include each year. Our literary staff’s dedication to excellence is reflected with this recognition.
Like all schools across the United States, Oak Hill Academy went into remote learning last spring. In addition to learning new ways to connect students and teachers, OHA’s Reflections staff used the quarantine time to produce this award-winning collection of student writings. The club met through video meetings and worked together, using the tools in an online classroom. All artwork, layout, edits, and labor were completed virtually. Students gained valuable skills and made connections with classmates.
Congratulations to OHA’s adviser, Mrs. Maureen Daly. Congratulations to the Upper School Staff and students for a job well done! This is the 24th win for Oak Hill Academy, and the fourth year in a row that Reflections has been recognized nationally!
