Dear Parents,

Plans are underway for another exciting summer at Camp Oak Hill! I’m so happy to be returning and have many new and engaging activities planned. This year’s camp session will run for six weeks, June 26, 2023 through Aug. 4, 2023. Enrollment is open to all students entering PreK-4th grade for the 2023-2024 school year.

You may choose a 2 full day (T-Th) session, a 3 full day session (M-W-F) or a 5 full day session. Camp hours are 9:00 am-2:00 pm each day. For an additional fee, Extended Care will be available after camp until 3:00pm. Families not attending Oak Hill Academy may attend Camp Oak Hill after meeting with Mrs. Colbert and obtaining an application. Discounts will apply for multiple siblings. Due to small group sizes, registration will be on a first come, first serve basis.

If you are interested in sending your child to a camp for a safe, secure, awesome, nonstop blast of summer fun and learning, please complete the registration forms (available online or in the main office) and a deposit of $500/child and return it to the main office by Friday, April 21, 2023.

International Chefs & Bakers Take a trip around the world with Mrs. Savarese. Students will discover the world through reading, cooking, and hands on activities. Each day students will learn about a different country around the world. Students will hear stories from this country, learn about its culture, and create a meal and dessert from that part of the world. At the end of the week, students will leave with their very own cookbook highlighting the recipes created over the week. Beading with a Buddy In this class under the directions of Mrs. Corcoran, students will create a variety of handmade jewelry! Some projects include beaded bracelets, charm necklaces, pom pom necklaces, tassel pins and upcycled jewelry. American Girl: A Historical Journey Mrs. DeVivo’s camp will have ALL NEW themes, as this summer we will be going on a historical journey with American Girl Dolls. American Girl doll fans will learn what it was like to grow up during the various time periods that the Historical dolls lived in. For example, campers will learn about the American Revolution through the eyes of Felicity. We’ll have a tea party as well as make crafts and accessories for horses which Felicity loves. We’ll also meet Courtney who lived during the ‘80’s. We’ll have an epic ‘80’s dance party and make essential ‘80’s accessories like neon doll scrunchies and leg warmers. Of course, we’ll meet Kaya, Addy as well as Julie just to name a few. Campers are encouraged to bring their own 18” doll to class each day as well as any other dress up clothes, accessories and pets that they want to share! Fee includes cost of materials. Musical Theater Workshop – Each day, budding musical theater performers will join Mrs. DeVivo to learn songs and choreography to popular Broadway shows. Performances titles include “It’s a Hard Knock Life” from ANNIE, “Revolting Children” from MATILDA and “Follow the Yellow Brick Road” from THE WIZARD OF OZ just to name a few. Performances will be recorded and shared with parents. We will also play a variety of Drama games throughout the camp to build performance, presentation and public speaking skills. Pop Music: Taylor’s Version – Have you ever wanted to talk only about Taylor Swift’s music?? Discuss and analyze the lyrics of various songs throughout Taylor Swift’s discography with Miss Dittloff. Debate which track 5 song is the most emotional. Which album has the best opener/closer? How did 1989 shift the entire genre of Pop? Enjoy lyrical analysis, friendly debates, and maybe a little karaoke, with a finale of creating a jukebox musical (think Mamma Mia!) from Swift’s musical catalog. Puppet Players – Led by Mrs. DeVivo, students will learn about and construct a variety of hand puppets including paper bag, tube, finger, sock and stick puppets as well as marionettes and shadow puppets. The students will create puppets based on popular Picture Books and Fairy Tales as well as use their own imaginations to make original creations.
