Oak Hill Students Shine in APP Student Voices

Each year, The Asbury Park Press Student Voices section offers topical themed writing contests for interested students in Monmouth and Ocean Counties.  The 7th and 8th grade Language Arts classes participated in this prestigious writing contest.  November’s Topic was What figure in American history has influenced your goals? Why?

OHA 8th grader Nika Berg has been awarded FIRST PLACE for her essay on Maya Angelou.  Three 8th graders received HONORABLE MENTION: Buddy Levy, Sophia Chubatyy, and Arya Patel.  Additionally, in the 7th-8th grade category, Evalina Bee Zerres was awarded SECOND PLACE for her moving essay about Chloe Kim. Sahaana Shah received THIRD PLACE for her lovely essay on Misty Copeland.

These essays will be published in the newspaper around mid-December.  Thanks to Mrs. Daly and Ms. McKeon for their help with this contest.  Beautiful writing by all students!
