Girls Soccer wins Championship in OT
CONGRATULATIONS to the Girl’s Soccer team and coach Josie Larkins for winning the Liberty Conference Championship 4-3 over St. Leo’s in double overtime on Friday!!!
The girl’s won the F Division in the Monmouth County Intermediate School Soccer League. In the Liberty Conference playoffs, they defeated Holy Cross (E Division)5-1 in the semi finals. This afternoon, the girl’s played the E Division champs, St. Leo’s. St. Leo’s was previously undefeated!!
In the championship game this afternoon, OHA was up 2-1 at halftime. In the 2nd half, St. Leo’s scored quickly to tie the score at 2-2. St. Leo’s then went up 3-2 on a penalty kick. OHA scored on a penalty kick to make it 3-3 with about 4 minutes left in the game.
In the first overtime period, the score remained tied. In the second overtime, OHA scored a goal with about 3 minutes left. GAME OVER, OAK HILL ACADEMY WINS!!!
The team and coach will be receiving championship t-shirts from the soccer league. Oak Hill girls last brought home the championship in 2015 defeating Shrewsbury.
