Introducing Merge EDU: A New Frontier in STEM Education at Oak Hill Academy

We are thrilled to announce the arrival of an exciting new resource for our PreK-4 students at Oak Hill Academy—Merge EDU, an innovative STEM educational product taught by Mrs. Emily Lenz. This cutting-edge tool is transforming how our young learners engage with science, allowing them to explore and interact with 3D objects in a hands-on, immersive way.

Merge EDU brings science concepts to life through the use of a special cube that students can hold, rotate, and inspect. By interacting with this cube, students are able to visualize abstract ideas and gain a deeper understanding of the world around them. Imagine holding the Earth’s core in your hand, zooming in on the anatomy of an insect, or exploring the intricate structure of DNA—all made possible by this amazing technology.

The impact of Merge EDU on our curriculum is significant. From studying the solar system and simulating life on Mars to analyzing blood types and understanding the water cycle, students are not only learning but experiencing science in an entirely new way. Mrs. Lenz reports that the enthusiasm from our students is palpable, as they eagerly dive into lessons with a heightened sense of curiosity and wonder.

One of the standout features of Merge EDU is its versatility. In addition to helping students grasp complex science concepts, it can also be used for other STEM purposes. For example, students can explore the inner workings of a computer, demystifying how these essential devices operate. With a class set of this revolutionary hardware, the Merge cubes are in daily use in our beautiful Soler Science Center, enhancing the learning experience for all.

At Oak Hill Academy, we are committed to providing our students with the best tools and resources to foster a love of learning, especially in STEM education. The introduction of Merge EDU is a shining example of how we are embracing technology to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators.

We look forward to continuing to see the remarkable impact Merge EDU has on our students’ learning journey, and we are excited about the new possibilities it opens up for deeper exploration and understanding.
