Oak Hill Academy helps St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

Every spring, Oak Hill Academy participates in the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s Math-a-thon. Upper School Math Teacher, Mrs. Rita Cotterell organized this event that has students volunteering in solving math problems and asking for pledges so they can help kids with cancer and other life-threatening diseases. All of the funds raised go toward making sure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — “because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.”

Oak Hill Academy has been participating in this worthwhile event for over 25 years. This year, 87 students came together to raise $14,783.23!! Special kudos to Donovan(6th) and Bette Kane (4th) for leading the charge by raising over $1200 as well as Buddy Levy (6th) for raising over $1100 by himself! Congratulations and thank you to Mrs. Cotterell and all of the Oak Hill students who participated.
