Oak Hill Academy Celebrates Annual 4th Grade Heritage Day
On Thursday, November 17 the fourth graders at Oak Hill Academy celebrated their own family’s traditions with each other during their annual Heritage Day. Heritage Day at Oak Hill Academy is just one example of how our community highlights the varied cultures in our school community. Each student looks forward to this day to invite family members to learn about each other’s customs. Prior to the special day, students made and decorated a paper doll in traditional garb of one of the countries of their ancestors. They also wrote a speech about a memorable family tradition, which range from holiday get-togethers to summer traditions to celebrated feasts from across the globe. The exciting day comes to a very tasty conclusion as each student brings in a dish from their family’s special recipes. With food from appetizers to main dishes to desserts, there is a smorgasbord of cuisine for all to enjoy from all parts of the world!

Thank you to teachers Mrs. Halleran, Mrs. Forsyth, and Mrs. Laffin, 4th Grade Homeroom Parents, and all of the fourth graders and their families for enriching all of their lives through this special celebration.
