On June 15, 2018 the Class of 2018 graduated from Oak Hill Academy at the annual graduation ceremony held in the Scire Student Activities Center.  Their guest speaker, Mr. Dave Calloway, is a Monmouth University Alum and member of the Athletic Hall of Fame (Men’s Basketball Player & Coach).  He spoke about how they have been prepared for the future during their time at Oak Hill and of all the wonderful opportunities that they have in front of them. This was certainly true based on the number of acceptances and choices the Class of 2018 had after a very productive and fulfilling school year.

The OHA Class of 2018 had many things to be proud of during this past year.  The academic team won at the Brother Christian Jones Middle School Math Tournament at Christian Brothers Academy! They were also the highest achieving Private/Parochial school at the nationally recognized Math Counts competition during the NJ State round, and won both the Fall and Spring team trophies at the Marine Academy of Science and Technology (M.A.S.T.) jeopardy style academic competitions. The Oak Hill Academy Math team also took home first place at the St. Joseph (Metuchen, NJ) High School Mathematics Competition that was held in January 2018. Eighth grader Alex Mitchell was the New Jersey State Champion of the American Scholastic Challenge. These are just a few of the highlights that the Class of 2018 brought to the table this year.  It was due to their strength that they had so many options to continue their academic careers.

With a graduating class of 43, Oak Hill Academy graduates will be going to over 15 different high schools!  This class was accepted into many different high schools; so there were some choices to be made. Oak Hill had 12 acceptances into the very prestigious County Vocational Programs including 6 into High Technology (the #1 Ranked STEM school by US News & World Report), as well as Biotechnology, Allied Health, and M.A.S.T., and another 6 into the Freehold Regional Specialized Programs such as Law & Public Service, Culinary &  Hospitality Management, and Science & Engineering as well as 6 into the Red Bank Regional Academies including Engineering, Finance, Information Technology and Visual and Performing Arts.  The school’s largest acceptances were to the parochial schools in the area and that totaled 38!  Finally, in addition to their public school districts, students earned the privilege to attend the following private schools: Lawrenceville, Phillips Andover Academy, Peddie, Pingry, Rutgers Prep, Princeton Day School, Blair Academy, the Hun School of Princeton, as well as the Ranney School.

Congratulations to all these fine graduates!
