Boys Soccer earns hardware
Wednesday, October 30, marked the day that the Oak Hill Academy Boys Soccer Team reestablished itself in the Monmouth County Interscholastic Soccer League (MCISSL). The last time the Boys Soccer Team made it to the MCISSL Conference finals was in 2019, but back then they were the #1 seed. This year, Coach Bruckmann and his Mustangs, entered the semi-finals vs. undefeated and #1 seeded Forrsetdale.

It was a back and forth contest with both teams battling to a 0-0 first half draw. In the 48th minute, after making one of his many saves, 8th grade goalkeeper, N. Henderson, punted the ball past midfield to classmate, N. Patel, who timed his run perfectly behind the defense to finish a 1 v 1 breakaway and give the Mustangs a 1-0 lead! The defense held strong for the final 12 minutes and earned a hard fought victory and place in the American Conference Finals.
The Finals proved to be an unbelievable offensive show as the mighty Mustangs fell 3-7 to Knollwood after going down 0-2 early in the contest and 1-4 at halftime. The boys never gave up and were able to make it an intense game before falling to a very talented team from Fair Haven. It was a solid season as the boys finished 6-2-1 and established themselves as a top team outscoring their opponents 29-20.
Thank you to all of the 8th graders as they will be missed tremendously next season.
