7th Grader posts a PERFECT SCORE at AMC-8

Each year Oak Hill students are given the opportunity to take the prestigious American Mathematics Competition – 8 (AMC8). This is a most challenging international contest, yet late last year OHA’s own 7^th grader (at the time), Grace Zheng, achieved an Oak Hill Academy first. Grace had a PERFECT SCORE in the competition. The Mathematical Association of America recognized this incredible feat by giving her The Maryam Mirzakhani AMC8 Award. This award recognizes Grace as a top scorer among all young women taking the contest and includes a monetary scholarship. Grace was celebrated at Oak Hill’s June awards ceremony with a trophy and certificate for being the Gold Winner at OHA and for placing in the top 1% nationally. The Silver Award (tie) went to James Badishkanian, James Fu, and Jack Pellegrini. The Bronze Award for 3^rd place in the school was given to (tie) Heqi Miao and Andie Sparano. James Fu and Heqi Miao were recognized by the MAA for their achievements as 6^th graders.
