5th graders win essay contest

Congratulations to 5th graders, Annabel Sparano and Sophia Gao! Their historical essays won awards in the Monmouth County Historical Commission’s annual essay contest! Annabel’s essay about Allaire Village earned FIRST PLACE and Sophia’s essay about Longstreet Farm earned THIRD PLACE!

One of our 5th grade traditions is to participate in the Monmouth County Historical Commission’s annual essay contest. Students are given the choice to either write about a historical place in Monmouth County or an important event to their family’s history. It is a wonderful opportunity to explore and make connections to history more deeply and personally.
